Polignano is a really beautiful , traditional Italian town .
Polignano is a really beautiful , traditional Italian town . The beaches are small and stunning , the sea is sparkling . The old town is small but with very charming lanes and eateries and bars . I would recommend this as a good base for a holiday in Puglia . Surrounding town of monopoli was also wonderful . The walk to San Vito monastery was beautiful!! A really special place !!

We didn't want to stay in Bari, so drove the short distance to this amazing white-washed town with great sunset views over the sea. If I had come at a different time of year, I would have definitely gone to the small, but clean beach. Food and drink were inexpensive (5 euro spritz, 9 euro pizza). We ate at the wrong restaurant - should have listened to our host. We went to Sagitarius restorante which is huge and takes tourist buses, but was close to our accomodation. if you order mussels, make sure to say, "in the bowl" bc i got mussels stuffed with breadcrumbs - not what I was expecting.

Its a lovely area for a respite.
Its a lovely area for a respite. Its also a good base for nearby areas like Monopoli and Ostuni. Everywhere is walkable and beautiful visitas of the ocean. I was there in Winter so a 2 night stay was fine. In summer you might stay longer to utilise neighbouring beaches.

Lovely oceanfront city.
Lovely oceanfront city. The oceanfront is made up mostly of cliffs, some with caves, and an occasional beach. There is a nice beachwalk broken by occasional locations where multistory buildings are positioned right up to the edge. Easy walking. Everything is clean and near. My wife and I are seniors, but never saw anything that caused us to be concerned about safety.
Nearby restaurants we tried were very good.

I was a little disappointed with Polignano a Mare.
I was a little disappointed with Polignano a Mare. I found that there's not much to see or do there. Then again, I'm not much of a beach person. I think this is more of a beach destination if that's your thing. I ended up going to nearby Monopoli each day, which is only a five minute train ride away. I much preferred Monopoli - it felt like more of a city with more to see and more going on. Also, the seaside areas of Monopoli are wonderful, as there are long stretches of walking and biking paths right at the level of the sea.

Our stay in Polignano a Mare was exceptional mostly because of our great host Marco. He helped us on every step of our journey and was extremely helpful with recommendations of places to eat and beaches. The apartment is extremely well located, if you go right out of the door and a couple of steps down you get directly to Via Roma, the famous street with the Volare lyrics on it and a huge selection of restaurants.
Can't recommend enough this place, mostly because of the host and his friendly and helpful attitude!
The host met us at the provided parking location and took us to the accommodation. She gave us a lot of valuable information. Her communication leading up to our arrival was fantastic. She booked a boat tour for us and also recommended and booked dinner for our first night. The restaurant was great!
The accommodation well exceeded our expectation. The view form our balcony and bedroom looked directly out over Lama Monachile Beach! I would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting Polignano a Mare
The location was perfect, right in the heart of Polignano a Mare. The host Andrea was outstanding, he insisted on carrying our luggage up to the room himself (we don’t travel light!). He kindly showed us around the area and made some excellent recommendations. He was always on hand to answer any questions and kindly made a reservation for us at a beautiful beach club in Monopoly. We highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the center of Polignano.
Angela was wonderfully hospitable, gave us great advice on restaurants and booked us a fantastic boat tour of the local caves and beaches, which I would highly recommend. Onsite parking was especially convenient since parking near the old city is a challenge, and it was only a short walk into the center of town. At the end of our stay, Angela even gave us a small gift to remember our time in Polignano a Mare, since we were on our honeymoon. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
I had a lovely little stay at Posea! Davide reached out to me from the hotel shortly after booking and was a wonderful help. He set up a private car for me from the airport, helped me bring up my heavy luggage and gave the best recommendations around Polignano to visit. I can thank him for making my first trip there so smooth. The room was quaint and cozy. I loved my terrace view of the beach and ocean. Right in the heart of the city. I will be back again!!
The property was very well located in the old town and still not a far walk from the train station.. Although a quite small room, it was very comfortable - in fact the best bed we slept on in Italy and the rain shower was lovely.. we were given some good recommendations for restaurants and they turned out to be terrific..
Loved the location, it was very close and walkable to the beach and main restaurants as well as very close to the train station. Theres no kitchen if thats what you need but there is a fridge. Also a large wardrobe, great shower and very clean facilities. Air con was great and the room was pretty spacious for two people.
The host, the location, the accommodation every thing was more than ok.
Nobody disturbed us for "inopinant checking", right next to the beach with clear and warm waters (but only with rocks).
Close garage nearby (extra charge), good sleeping conditions for 6 people.
Totally recomand it
The location is beautiful and a in very traditional part of the town. There are lots of restaurants nearby and all the attractions are very close by.
The staff are excellent and couldn't do enough to help you. The hotel itself was perfect and very clean.
We would definitely stay again.
The only very positive thing about there was the cleanliness. In Italy it is a bit hard to find a very clean hotels overall and here was really very clean. Besides from cleanliness was under average I have to say.
The hotel is very well situated in the old town near many great restaurants and bars. It is comfortable and spacious. The host was also very proactive in providing info on parking and restaurant recommendations.
We had 5 nights in Polignano a Mare . The Nest was in the heart of the town. Excellent position to bars and restaurants. Accommodation was a little tricky with spiral stairs but that added to it’s quirky style.
Lovely location and room in a beautiful part of Italy. The owner also let us leave our bags at the hotel during the day while we waited for a train which was so helpful. Couldn't recommend more highly.
The hotel is in a good location in the town - close to restaurants and the beach. The rooftop is lovely and the breakfast was very good. The room was modern and clean with nice, fresh decor.
very clean, excellent location, friendly staff, good breakfast! The rooms are new and well kept. unexpectedly, this was the best hotel we stayed in during out whole trip across italy.
Aquamarea was a charming boutique hotel, offering beautiful sea views and perfect sunset and beach vistas. wet comfy bed and pillows. great balcony with sea views.
